Melbourne Legacy Badge Day 2019

Melbourne Legacy couldn’t have done it without YOU! Every Badge Day we hit the streets of Melbourne to rattle tins and sell badges to raise money to support veterans; families. And every year the citizens of Melbourne show up to get involved and donate to our cause. We couldn’t be more thankful. Here’s to you, Melbourne!

Volunteer with Melbourne Legacy

Everyone has a story, and all of our volunteers have different reasons for working with Legacy. Some are Legacy children, who grew up with our youth programs. Others had a friend or family member who was assisted by Legacy. There are members of the community who reached out to Legacy because they wanted to contribute to caring for Australia’s defence families. How Melbourne Legacy Helps

Supporting veterans’ families

Annabelle and Primrose

This is the essence of Melbourne Legacy is. Annabelle’s husband Josh returned from service in Afghanistan, only to fall ill and pass away shortly before their daughter was born on Josh’s birthday. Annabelle explains her families’ relationship with Legacy, encompassing advocacy, childcare, and the knowledge that her daughter will be supported for the duration of her childhood.

Melbourne Legacy & Path Of The Horse

“We’re both driven by the same thing: the best outcomes for veterans and their families.” Melbourne Legacy first started working with The Path of the Horse a few years ago, and we’ve been amazed with the results coming out of the program. This year we announced a strategic alliance, allowing us to refer more defence families to this restorative therapy – have a look, and see what the program is all about. Melbourne Legacy strives to make a difference. Thank you to all our donors who make what we do possible. Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of those who have given their life or health serving our country.

Trent’s Legacy Story

Growing up in a defence family, Trent faced a unique set of challenges. When Trent was experiencing homelessness, Melbourne Legacy was able to provide support and accommodation. When times are tough, there’s always something you can do to help.
