They are an opportunity for our beneficiaries to connect, build friendships and become part of a community that understands their journey. Each family day is an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces while welcoming new families into our community.
Sue, Andrew, and their nine-year-old granddaughter, Quinn came along to Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA for their first Legacy family day. It was their first time meeting other Legacy families, having only recently connected with Legacy after the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Tegan, following her courageous battle with glioblastoma.
Quinn quickly struck up a friendship with another young Legacy beneficiary, Eliza.

It was a simple but powerful reminder of why family days matter. In a space like this, families can meet others who understand what they're going through.
The family also reflected on how encouraging it was to see the friendships that already existed among other Legacy families and expressed their excitement about becoming part of such a supportive community.
These moments of connection are core to Melbourne Legacy’s promise to be a force for good for the families of veterans. By bringing families together through shared experiences, we help create friendships and support that extends well beyond the event itself.
Family days remind our beneficiaries that they are not alone. They provide opportunities to make new friends, create happy memories and find comfort in a community that walks alongside them through life's challenges.
