High Tea at the Windsor with Our Disabled Beneficiaries

April 30, 2026

Last week, we enjoyed a wonderful day out with a group of our disabled beneficiaries, gathering for a delightful high tea in the Winston Room at the Windsor.

The afternoon began with a champagne toast, which many attendees described as one of the most memorable moments of the day. A specially curated menu followed, featuring an array of gourmet sandwiches, sweet and savoury scones, petit cakes, and a selection of 11 teas.

While the food was exceptional, the true highlight was the opportunity for connection. These events bring together a close-knit group, many of whom have shared friendships for decades. For some, these outings are rare chances to reconnect, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company.

On the day, one of the carers emphasised the positive impact of the programs Melbourne Legacy runs for our disabled beneficiaries, affirming how important these days are for attendees and how the social aspect really fills their cups and helps them to keep going.

The event also welcomed a new attendee, Melanie* has been involved with Legacy since 2023, and is aged in her 40s. Growing up, she used to visit the Windsor teas rooms with her mother and veteran father, making the day a touching return to those cherished moments.
