Legacy Week Parliament Launch

September 06, 2025

Thanks to the incredible support of Minister for Veterans, The Hon Natalie Suleyman and her team, Legacy Week kicked off at the Parliament of Victoria.

The team at Melbourne Legacy, with two highly enthusiastic Legacy Bears in tow, attended the Parliament of Victoria as guests of The Hon Natalie Suleyman, Minister for Veterans, to launch this year's Legacy Week campaign. Raising awareness amongst Parliamentary staff and members across the state about the importance of supporting the families of our veterans, the event was attended by members of our Community Services team, as well as ADF personnel.

Melbourne Legacy President, Legatee Kerry Jenke and CEO, Mark Dixon, shared the invaluable support that MPs provide to the families of veterans just by buying a badge, a bear, donating or sharing information about our important cause. Minister Suleyman reaffirmed her support for Melbourne Legacy, and Legacy clubs Australia-wide as we continue in our mission to ensure no family of a veteran is left to face the negative impacts of service to our country, alone.

We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended and support Melbourne Legacy at the Parliament of Victoria event. Over $2,500 was raised in just a couple of hours, with the Minister for Veterans encouraging all of caucus to post on social media to help promote the Legacy Week Appeal.
